Dog Scouts of America Troop 157

A roaring round of applause to Penquin and Bradley for becoming Troop 157's newest Dog Scouts!

Schedules are being finalized and will be announced for DSA classes with Sandy and Holly as well as Trick & Manner Badges (Holly was also recently approved for Obstacles 1 & Rally 1 - classes are already listed on Facebook for these badges).  As those of you who are working on your certification know, these are not easy to earn and to not only have earned the Dog Scout certification, but to also have earned the title Scoutmaster was a major commitment on their part.  Be sure to say congrats and thank you for their support of Troop 157.

Troop 157's October Social Event is Dog-Toberfest, "One Party at Two Venues to Benefit Two Great Doggie Rescues". 

Join us on October 24 for lots of fun to benefit Get A Life Pet Rescue and Dachshund Rescue of South Florida.

The fun starts at 4 p.m. at Doggy Bag Cafe, 7310 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami. 

At 6 p.m., we move to Schnitzel Haus (A German Style Restaurant), 1085 N.E. 79th Street/Causeway in Miami.

There will be lots of dog friendly vendors to visit as you:
- play our game of "Dogopoly" (see game board link below - please print out and bring to BOTH venues)
- enter in the Costume Contests for Most Humorous and Most Original Costume
- enter the Yodeling (Barking/Howling) Contest
- try your luck at lots of Raffles
- get many great discounts & freebies for you and your dog

You can come to both venues or just to one, depending on your schedule, but either way, you and your four-footed best friend will have a great time while helping homeless dogs in two terrific local rescues.

DSA Troop 157 had its second annual Dog Olympics on May 31, graciously hosted by Sandra Disque Allen at her family's beautiful Plantation home.  A great time was had by all people and dogs, and the food was delicious and plentiful!  Visit the Photo Albums for pictures of this great event.
